My Book Has Won an Award!

So there I am, relaxing at my lake house for what is (horrifyingly) one of the first times this year, due to how overwhelmingly busy I’ve been. It’s the fourth of July, I am eating zucchini bread, watching for hummingbirds, and checking my e-mail. It’s like a miracle!

I spot an e-mail titled, “Unexpecting Has Won the IBD Award!” My gut wanted to say “mark as spam,” but my conscious thought quickly won over. “IBD? Hey wait, that’s a reputable thing!”

Click-a-rooskie and… voila! I am informed that someone nominated my book for this award! (No, I did not nominate myself. So, whomever did nominate my book, thank you very much!)

I continue on to find out that my book has a permanent feature page on the IBD Awards site, including a description, buy links, and more.

I’ve received a certificate! I’ve got a cool badge to share online and put on my site! And I can’t help feeling like it’s extra special, being that it’s Independence Day.

So thank you, IBD Awards people, for selecting me as the winner. Thank you to the mystery person who nominated my book. And an extra note of thanks to all of my readers, whose great reviews have contributed to my nomination and selection!

I plan to celebrate this evening with extra wine and extra joy as my husband Mark and I (finally) go out on our boat tonight to celebrate our country’s freedom. And, a whole lot more.
